I hope you will forgive me asking about an off-site project but I need help with a project that am am helping my local club with and there is a lot of sawmill knowledge here. Being from Mt. Vernon, IN we have an interest in Keck Gonnerman equipment. Last year a K-G sawmill was donated to the club. What we have is in good condition but most of the feed works for the carriage is missing. The original works were discarded many years ago and replaced with a truck transmission. The transmisson functions but is a poor substitute for a proper carriage feed. The mill has a rope drive carriage. The winding drum and cable are still intact but that is just about it. I need to recreate the dual belt drive system used to operate the carriage. Can anyone put me on to diagrams, pictures, drawings, measurements, pulley sizes....... which will help me build the feedworks? I have some pics posted on SmokStak and will try to post some here.
