To all who are willing to help with the 60th Anniversary quilt that will stay on the grounds and be used as display at our future shows ~
Below is a list of the squares that are being planned for this quilt. Each person who submits a square should choose their own fabric as this will enhance the diversity of our members and show areas. Please make sure each square is 9"x9" and that your design stays at least 1/2" off each side. Please sign you square in someway. Squares can be mailed by April 1, 2013, to Stephanie Poegel PO Box 373 Lake Park MN 56554. We will need help assembling the quilt this summer on the grounds. If you would like to help to get your hours in, we will be working on it in the Ladies Activities Building this spring and summer. More information about that will be posted this spring here, on facebook, and on the Hill. If you are willing to take an open square, please message me so I can update the list. Thank you! Stephanie Poegel

Steph...

Could you post a picture of what a quilt square looks like? Maybe a few examples would get folks excited about making their own square.

Great idea Mark!
I do not have any squares right now. If someone has one, please post.
Ideas for the square would include painting, stitching, iron-on's, applique, using fabric pencils/markers to color or draw, or any other creative ideas members have.
As soon as I receive a square, I will post what it looks like.
Steph

Time to Stitch!

To anyone who knows how to sew a simple whip-stitch -

The 60th anniversary quilt is almost done! It is set up in the Ladies Activities Building in the back on the quilt frame (we're not sure we did it right, but it should work:Shrugs:) There is gray thread on the top of the quilt that is to be used for stitching the edges. Once this is done, it will be ready to tie! We plan to have the yarn on the hill next weekend (July 23-24). Please feel free to go in and stitch what you can. Don't worry about getting it all done at one time! Every little bit helps! If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. We will try to answer as soon as we can.
THANK YOU FOR YOU HELP!!!!
Cheri & Steph
