    110 Case

Thanks for the info, everyone! I feel bad for not making out to the show to see these things first hand. This fall has been crazy because of school, but I will try to make it out to woodcutting weekend and a machine shop day. What is Jim Briden's name on the forum? I'd like to find out more =)

    110 Case

Hey all, I didn't make it out to the show this fall, but I heard the 110 skid was decommissioned this spring by the boiler inspection. What are the plans for repair? I would be interested in helping or even attending a workday to watch, if it were planned. :thumb: Thanks,

    WMSTR Receives Grant Money

Hopefully before this years show? Don't let the bureaucracy slow down improvements on the showgrounds!

    40HP Avery Phase III

Oh come on! With as many talented engineers as you have working on it, that puppy will be done in time for steam school! ;)

    40HP Avery Phase III

Amazing work! Thanks for the pictures and the story! Preserving history is one of the most important things we can do, and you are doing a job that is important to all of us. Look forward to seeing it on showgrounds this year!

    110 Case Maintenance

A big thank you to all the senior members at the show last weekend who helped me find work in the sawmill! I really enjoyed spending time in there making it a better place. See everyone at the show! Hope there is room for one more helping hand in there during the show too ;)

    Visitor/member camping rules and procedures

Does anyone have one of the camping guides, and perhaps be able to post some of the rules as a guide for new campers/reminder for returning campers like myself? It seems every year is a new one for me because I forget how I did it last time!:bonk: However, this year is unique as my father had...

    Larson Sawmill

This thing is huge! You will need a semi to pull it out to Rollag! It's going to be amazing! Never heard of someone building a sawmill in their back yard before ;-)

    110 Case Maintenance

Awesome! Please let me know when that is, so I can make plans to come out. Between working for my job and working for my parents, I don't have much freetime unless I schedule it.

    110 Case Maintenance

I remember during the 2008 show that the 110 had a bunch of stuff wrong with it: the injector, water pump, governor, petcocks and valves...are there any workdays planned for going through this engine and getting it running like a top again? Ever since Mark first showed me that engine one work...

Looking for a work weekend in the mill

Lately, I've been studying hard at college. Last semester I earned a 3.91/4 gpa, and I want to keep it up since I plan to transfer to the University of Minnesota after next year to continue my studies in forestry. How have things been for you? Get to help on any fun steam projects? =)

Tentative plans for wood pile clean up...

Mark, I will not be able to come out for the 14th or the 22nd. Sorry I haven't been on the forum much, but college is really time consuming and WMSTR has done fine without me for 50 years, so a few more while I'm in school shouldn't hurt. Thanks again for everything you do with the forum...

    November Woodcutting Weekend

Is the third Saturday of November the official woodcutting day this year, like last year? I need to know so I can take time off work here at college to come out. =)

What's that generator, behind the Pabst engine?

I'm glad I 'sparked' this conversation, but the intentions of my last message were not to wire the generators into the showgrounds. What I meant was that if someone knows how to fix something, that piece of machinery will better off once its fixed up, even if there is no intentions of putting...

What's that generator, behind the Pabst engine?

From what I've seen with with dynamos out at Rollag is that the steam engine gets maintenance but the electric parts get left alone. As far as I know, the generators on the Pabst and Villaume engines are in the same condition they were in when they were assembled on site...probably due to a...

What's that generator, behind the Pabst engine?

But that doesn't mean that there is no use for a rebuilt generator! If you have the ability and skills to do so, don't hold back! If you can use some unskilled help, post your need on the forum. I would love to come out and learn how to fix these and help out. Sounds like you know what you are...
