Craig,

Thank you for passing on the news. Roynell is another class act person that we will miss at Rollag.

Wow... Funeral website is empty except for 2 pictures!

Roynell was a very nice guy and when he was in better shape he did a lot of behind the scenes projects on the grounds that many never realized (during the week when the weekend crowd went home. He did a lot of organizing in the "nail room" in the service building and he built all of the shelving in the plumbing room there too. I am pretty sure that he was the painter in the visitors shower house when it was built so many years ago. He paid a lot of attention to detail.

I had the opportunity to personally thank him when it became obvious he was slowing down considerably. Did the same thing with Leroy Neilson before he went on to his reward. We all need to pay attention to what some of these "lower profile" people get accomplished and be sure they know how much they are appreciated.

RIP Mr. Erickson, and thanks again!

Roynell will be missed by me.

He also played guitar during Nursing Home day for many years until the last couple years he could not anymore.
He also would pressure wash all the runner carpets from the buildings on Main Street after the show. There would be around 10 he would wash and be drying in the sun. (I remember this very well).
He also did a lot of the cutting of grass around the grounds using the WMSTR Allis C mower.
I believe he built the "Pop" can tractor which is displayed during the show, on the North side of the Ladies Activities building
Roynell was a very kind man and I will always cherish the memories of him. He was a true WMSTRitte!
