Hello Everyone, I have 3 apprentices who are hoping to get a bit of firing time during the 2022 WMSTR show. We are in town already for Sept. 1st to write their Mn. state operator`s exams then free to be involved until the show ends. They all completed steam school in 2018 at U. Rollag, then fired in 2019 at our local show in Lynden, Wa. and again here at last week`s show. They have individually had experience on a 1911 25 HP Case, 1911 36 HP Rumely and 1913 25 HP Gaar Scott, plus steam school. They would love the opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience, working with a safety conscious and skilled mentor. Please reach out if there is anywhere that they can help out. Thanks, Sandra

Hi Sandra,

I don't have a steam engine. I do run a Prony Brake and I know some very good operators. Look me up at the show and we should be able to get these folks connected.

Later,
Jerry Christiansen

I'll be needing some help running the show's Port Huron. I have somebody penciled in for Friday at this point, but showtime is always a bit of a fluid situation... I can accommodate up to 2 modestly-experienced people at once, and need at least one other to safely run about during showtime. Places to deposit power can become a scarce commodity during the show, but I'll do my best to give those on my schedule an opportunity to fire under load for a time long enough to get the gist of things.

Contact info forthcoming via PM.

Hi Rick, I assume I may be the one penciled in? (Nick that talked to you at Rollagology) I recently had to take a new job so I will be working till about 6:30am Friday morning, then have a 5 hour drive so not looking good for me… I’m planning to help Knute on Saturday and don’t know yet if I’ll be working Sunday or Monday, so don’t hold the space for me… I will send you a text tomorrow if you don’t see this before then.
