Greetings everyone,

My wife and I were blessed with the arrival of our third child just short of 8 am on Tuesday, January 24th.

Shortly after birth, it became apparent that he was having trouble breathing. We have been transferred to the NICU in the St. Cloud hospital. The doctors seem to think he inhaled some amniotic fluid during delivery and is suffering from breathing issues. He is already greatly improved since being admitted, but still has some recovery left to go.

At this point, because of the risks of infection, we're keeping visits to a minimum. I would ask for any prayers/ positive thoughts for Gunnar and all of his family. This kid is definitely a fighter, but he can use all the help he can get.

Thank you,

Mike Bennett

First... congratulations Mike on the new addition!

We will keep Gunnar and your family in our prayers here. :praying:

Sorry about not getting updates on here... Been a busy week. *edit* It might be easier to remind myself if I actually click and watch my own thread... sigh

Gunnar is doing much better. He is off of the CPAP machine. We are still in St Cloud, really hoping that we will be discharged on Thursday.

Well.... We're still in the hospital. Gunnar lost weight overnight. I'm thinking that this is the last hurdle to clear before we can go home. Hopefully today/tonight he eats well and puts a bit of weight on, I miss my own bed.

Glad to hear he is doing better. I have been watching his progress on Facebook too and am happy things are moving in the right direction. Praying all keeps going right and progress continues.

Well... We're home! We get to finally adjust to home life now, albeit a week later than originally planned.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, we appreciate it very much.

Hi Bennetts,

Thanks for the good news that you are home! I hope that everybody stays healthy. Looking forward to seeing the newest Bennett.

Jerry,

I'm pretty sure you've met this kid already, about 8 years ago. He looks quite familiar.
