We are going to have a work weekend at the Ortner April 27 - 29 pending weather. The main focus will be to re-roof the engine shed. The pluses are that it's not high and it's not very large. We will also be sanding the tender and engine cab on the train in preparation for painting. There will be the usual spring cleanup of the grounds and other small projects based on time and people. There is a wmstr spring meeting in Barnesville on Saturday that we will work around. Peter

    Roof is Done

The roof on the Ortner engine shed is done. The project went pretty well and once the roof was stripped off, there were only two boards to replace. Bob, from Winnipeg, stopped by and helped out. The new roof looks good and should be water tight for years to come. We were able to get some other odds and ends done but the weather didn't contribute to painting the engine tender, so we'll still have work to do this spring sanding the tender and engine cab and getting it painted, replacing some rail ties, finishing the coal tipper, etc. Always lots to do.
