For those in the music circle and those who know or care, Perry passed away this morning at the lamplighter manor in detroit lakes minnesota.. perry taught a lot of people to play guitar, write music and perform, it was getting harder and harder for him the last 5 years or more.. He will be greatly missed.. No services are planned at this time..

Thank you for letting us know. My sympathy to his family and friends.

I did not know Perry... at least by name. Where did he play on the show grounds?

banjo, dobro and guitar...he was one of the old guys in the gazebo. It is too hard to move these guys around so they stay pretty close to the gazebo.

Was just thinking about Perry this morning, He was always one of the first people in the gazebo in the morning. I think it was 3 shows ago the doctors told him not to come to the show, his heart wouldnt stand the strain, he had a defibulator that had seen its better years. He was in poor enough condition that he likely wouldnt live thru the surgery to replace it.. His words to me that morning were " I would rather die in Rollag playing music with my friends than in a hospital room being miserable". he knew his days were very numbered...
