If you are looking for ways to help out this weekend and next 8/18-820 8/25-8/27 and get your hours. There are going to be a lot of project going. And many people looking for helpers.
Some of the of the projects include
Wood cutting by where the steamers park on Saturday 8/19
Downer church is in need of helpers to finish up the front rebuild
Ortner train may be looking for helpers around the new round house
Pioneer village / water wheel area is in need of helpers
There are some of the wooden benches through out the show ground that could use some repair. (check with Merlin Meyers at the for replacement wood)
General mowing and weed whipping area the grounds.

I'm sure there are many more things this is just a start of the list. PLEASE if you need help added it to the list the will also be a list in the Mercantile please but a name a contact number if you are heading up a project.

Also please if you have any tools that you think could come in handy it's always best to pack them and not need them rather than need them and not have them. Even if you don't have tools sometimes it's nice just to have an extra set of hands.

If you're a skilled volunteer I.E. plumber, welder, electrician PLEASE PLEASE put your name and contact info on the white marker boards in the Mercantile so if there's a job that is specific to that task people can get a hold of you.

Remember we are all here for the same reason to maintain WMSTR as the premier show in the Nation/World and none of it would be possible without our volunteers.

I Thank you all in advance

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT CAME AND HELPED WITH WOOD CUTTING!!!!!:not_worthy::not_worthy:

Just amazing what our great volunteers can do when we all come together!!
Still a number of things to do before the show time is getting short. I know there's going to bundles that will need loading I think the Ortner crew will be looking for helpers this weekend coming up. There is a list on the white marker boards in the mercantile with who and where needs help.

Thanks again to everyone that came down to help.

P.S. Rick we almost got all the drool cleaned up from people foaming at the mouth over your 300 ;)...

I was running around on other projects all day, but I couldn't believe the progress made with all of the wood cutting! That had to be a single day record for most wood cut and put up! Thanks Ned and all the other organizers, as well as the volunteer help!:congrats::congrats:

Speaking of wood cutting, is there a fall event date for that set yet? We seemed to have a pretty good system going that day for piling wood with the elevator, but I'm wondering how well it might work to cut straight into a tote. I know eliminating a handling step wouldn't be very Rollag, but I'm getting lazy in my young age...

It is usually mid November. Has to be planned around deer hunting and Thanksgiving. Info should be out there (and here) as the date approaches.
